Pads Trigger sound upon release in Chromatic?

Hello, I have fully read this manual but a strange thing seems to happen at random… maybe something in the sound settings itself but Im having problems when I go to chromatic mode to play the pads, it randomly starts sounding when I take my finger off the pad, so it sounds when I hit it and then also again when I release, so its double hitting. Does anyone know anything about that and why it may turn up at random… I swear it starts to work normally and then switches to double hit.

Like is my machine screwed up or what? is there such a feature with the pads where it will trigger a sound upon releasing the pad?

Rytm MKII grey vs black

A lot of early to mid period greys had the pad double triggering/misfire issue because of improper thickness of the data membrane sheets. I think they sorted that out with the later ones. Always worthwhile to ask for a demonstration video if you’re buying used for those greys. That was never an issue on the black ones afaik. Otherwise, im not aware of additional hardware upgrades to the black versions.
