Pad reaction problem

Hey,

i got my first analog rytm device 4 days ago and i had a few problems.
first of all i recognized, that when chosing a track with “Track+Pad” it sometimes chose CH9, although I chose another one and also it somtimes just didn’t react, when i chose a track, and from time to time jumped to CH9 inbetween.
Also CH9-Pad sometimes didn’t react when I hit it in a row (in the same intensity). So there were gaps. When i hit it 10 times 2-3 times didn’t do anything. I recognized that this problem came and also disappeared. Also in scene mode sometimes it automatically chose CH9 without me doing anything, deactivated my scene with it. Elektron support didn’t answer.
Both problems stayed the same though i did: factory reset, new 1.02c update, system test without any negative report. I changed sounds, amp decay, but also with samples the pad didn’t react about 1-2 in 10 hits.

so yesterday i went to the store and got me a new device.

Now today i started everything from the beginning with this new device and…now i don’t have the first problem anymore. so Track+pad does work solid and ch9 doesn’t activate automatically.
BUT
I still have the problem that (now in more than just CH9-Pad) pads don’t react sometimes. Trigger-Buttos do! So actually it has to do something with the pads or velocity or this amp decay thing?!

Anyone with the same problem or am i doing something dramatically wrong?

The velocity sensitivity of the pads on the AR is a bit clunky. Try setting “track velocity to volume” to OFF for all tracks and see if the problem disappears.

The pads will loosen up in use tho. Initially I had probs with the pad velocities much more than now that the pads have been “burned in” somewhat. For decent velo sens tho, you need an external padcontroller IMHO. You can play the AR pads from any MIDI channel from the first 12 notes (ie. note numbers 0-11)

yeah, I concur.
wondering if Elektron does something to allow more precise playing here: other velocity curves, likely simpler one with quantized values. performance mode should not be quantized of course.
