One question regarding the Pad play remains.
I am used to play beats with pads into the NI Maschine. I liked that a lot.
Besides the fact that I personally think the pads on the NI thing are nicer to play I miss the functionality to play a beat into the thing without having to select a specific track before.
I just started like that on the Rytm but since I play more than one machine it overwrites it on the selected track. Is this by design or is there a switch that I have to set to play live but not only into one track?
Rytm and Maschine are completely different by design.
Maschine is a computer controller and Rytm is a hardware synthesizer.
You can only use the voice engine for the track selected once. It’s not computer software with seemingly indefinite replication. Each voice is monophonic.
To prevent overwriting the programmed pattern while playing the pad – take it out of live record mode. However, playing the pad will ’ interrupt ’ the pattern because each voice is monophonic.

thanks for the answer. yes I know that the Rytm is analogue , thats why I bought it, but from the managment side there is a lot of digital going on as well which is a good thing.
I somewhat expected this feature to be a no brainer like retriggering record in live recording mode, but obviously its not…
