P-Locks in between notes longer than one step?

Hopefully this title gets close to what I am wondering about.

If I have a note with a length of 4 steps, in mono mode, can I program in a p lock in for the following 3 steps after the note on step?

I know for realtime record it can automate my knob twisting, and shows that there is atuomation present using the dimly lit LED. So when using Step record mode, how do I add a P lock in on a step where there is no note on?

Use a trigless lock.

To have effect the note length has to reatch the the following steps you wat to be of influence ( by note legth or amp release )
