Thanks! I’ve been pretty surprised at what I’ve been able to pull out of the Syntakt myself
It’s a lot more capable than what people give it credit for.
Amazing Packs @Oxenholme ! I don’t know why but I’ve just discovered this thread. I miss my ST. It’s been 2 months now that I’m trying to send it to Elektron USA for repair but it always come back to sender for unknown reasons.
Tariffs?
I do hope you get it sorted soon. Being without the ST for too long is unhealthy!
I know it’s a big part of my setup, especially for Percs.
these are unreal. ive never heard such good percussive sounds from the syntakt. i cant even wrap my head around how you achieved some of these with the ST machines.
incredible job
Thank you! ![]()
In short: Lots of SY TOY & SY TONE. Lots of ‘fm’ with fast LFOs and velocity mod of key parameters. And using both filters to shape the sound.
sounds like my process. i use audio rate lfos on everything and HEAVY velocity mod macros
need to refine my workflow. i no longer have the ST, im sure i’ll get it again someday but i want to try some of this with the DN2 i currently have. it’s ultra powerful but it doesnt have the toy or other kind of physical modelling-oriented machines. still i do feel like its one of the best for percussive sound design so hopefully i can get some nord drum-like sounds out of it now that you’ve inspired me in that direction. i find that really fm’ing the pitch and sometimes bpf freq with a super fast lfo really gives you a nice “wet” texture to carve from, even on the dn. but the st has so much magic in the filters and overdrive that really helps make those tactile sounds
your “SY-TOY” video walkthrough actually demonstrates some of what i suspected. thats a great video, i’d love to see more like that
keep up the great work, thanks for the insight
Thanks for the kind words!
I’m pretty sure you could do a lot of this stuff (and more) on the DN2 with the FM drum engine. You have more LFOs and a comb filter as well to play with.
I only have the og DN myself and that’s already pretty capable for cool percussion synthesising even if it’s a bit more arcane. I like the more direct approach of the ST.
Another Skintakt pack?! I’m running out of free sound slots…
buying this ASAP
cheers
Ha! Thanks dude! ![]()
I have the same problem though. I have to start backing things up so I have room to make more sounds

FTFY.
While I don’t disagree, the fact that Elektron is hogging 5 banks with write protected sounds doesn’t help either… ![]()
Made a short video with the demo patterns as well!
I bulk de-write protected all the sounds on the plusdrive once, it was a chore but totes recommend it
Now there’s a feature request: Please allow that to be done by bank Elektron ![]()
… Select All …
Well there you go. Fixed immediately ![]()
Those hours of my life are long gone now… but this is great for everyone else who hasnt yet done it hehehe!
New soundpack out today. All about the technos (sort of)
'A collection of 128 Analog & Digital sounds for the Elektron Syntakt tailor made for your techno productions. After two specialist percussion packs, this next one is a bit more broad in scope but definitely focussed on all things techno adjacent. It ranges from moody dub vibes to brutal techno bangers though, so there’s enough in there to keep you busy for a while!
This pack contains:
-
Some basic staples like kicks, hats, basses & subs to get a beat going, both analog & digital.
-
Plenty of chord stabs and textures to drive your rhythm, mood and/or rumbles
-
Lots of atmospheric one shots, fx hits, percussive noises
-
Drones, bwaaaps, arps, honks & other ominous sounds.
A lot of these sounds can be heard in my recent string of Youtube tutorials, so if you like what you heard there be sure to check out this pack!’
