I have the overstayer FET and the sound sculptor STS, both quite different things IMO. The fet comp is perfect for drum bus duties, its a decent sounding thing and can do varying degrees of colour/smashing. The STS is more subtle and can be used on a drum bus or master bus at 30ips- I like to drive it pretty hard (in order to get some light compression going on) and it basically pulls things together in a very pleasing way- one of those boxes where anything you feed it comes out a bit better sounding.

If you need compression related coloration get the FET, though if its tape style colouration then the STS has that and to my ears is somewhat more classy. Both are decent boxes though. Perhaps a decent compromise would be the STS and an LA audio 4x4 FET compressor, which can be had pretty cheap and will do similar things to the overstayer FET, if not quite as nicely.

If you go with the STS hit up neilbaldwin at marmot audio- he did an amazing custom build for me at a very reasonable price.
