"Overbridge Mode" with AK do not work in Win 10

Hey guys!

I got a new Laptop(Win 10 / 64bit)

I use an"Alesis multimix 8"external Soundcard and i want to connect up my elektron AK via USB to my computer.
Here is my problem:

-If i got OB installed and run my AK usb configuration in the “overbridge mode”.
While i activeted these mode and windows recognized the AK my external soundcard begins to get very hard sound problems in windows (disturbances while playing sounds or videos in yt / mp3 / in my daw).

Everytime my AK is connected with USB and if it is in “Overbridge Mode” i got these problems.

If i use the AK and the same soundcard with my other rcomputer (win 10) everything works fine.

What can i do?

Are you trying to use the AK on a hub with the Multimix? Can you try another port for the AK?

Id used the direct USB ports on my laptop for my soundcard and my AK.
I use no USB hub.
Also i tryed diffrent ports but it still not work

Try and bypass your external soundcard to see if the issue is external sound card related.
Go direct to computer and use internal sound card.

With the internal soundcard it works.
But still not with the external.

Seems like an issue between your external sound card and your computer.

The soundcard works well if the AK is in “USB-Midi” mode.
Just if i use the “Overbridge Mode” on my AK my soundcard makes issues.
I really got no clue why.

I dont know why either, but why do you need to use an external sound card in this case?
Maybe overbridge mode works only when using direct USB into computer.

Of cause i do.
i got on my soundcard diffrent elements.
like a guitar and a microphone.
Also my speakers and my turntables are connected with my soundcard.

The weird thing is the soundcard and the AK works all good with my old win 10 computer but just not on my newer laptop.

well if it works fine in usb-midi mode, why not just use that?

Because i want to use the AK in my DAW as Plug-In via Overbridge.
And in this case the Overbridge Mode must be enabled.

Sorry if my questions sound dumb, but just trying to find a way for you to bypass the issue. I am also not familiar with your setup.
Why cant you use direct USB to computer for your AK, everything else through your external sound card?
Maybe try re-installing external card drivers.

No worrys! You do not sound dumb.

I just re-installed the driver for the external card driver a several times.
But nothing changed so far.

Yey i fixed it.
I disconnected the AK from my direct usb ports and connected the AK to an external usb hub.
Now it works all well. :slight_smile:
