Overbridge + Digitakt II confusion

Hi there,

first post. Tried searching, could not find what i am looking for. So here it goes. I am following a video tutorial for Overbridge. And when that person goes into the soundbrowser using a digitone there is a lot to see. Not for me on my digitakt. I just have the factory installed sounds in Bank A.

And that got me wondering and searching. I understand that the banks hold “sounds” and not samples. I have a bunch of samples in the /samples folder on the +drive, but i can not find a way to access them inside of overbridge (it seems overbridge is a much better “experiment” system then just the device, but without finding my samples…).

Is the answer to this to convert all samples to sounds to store them in the banks A-H? That seems weird and probably not the way to go…

Having 8 banks of sounds that are pretty empty is weird as well - did not really notice so far, because I mostly worked with the samples. Is there a fast way to take a sample set and make them sounds? (I know that sounds are modded samples, but wondering anyway). Or is the way to get something into those write protected banks a “one by one” approach?

Tx for all the links i should be reading

Have you watched this :

Cuckoo tries to explain the basic workflow.
Also : the manual… has stuff about overbridge.
For moving samples computer to/from DT2 you can use the Elektron Transfer.
Not sure this answers things.

Actually, only watched the one about the Syntakt.

I can move samples with Transfer. That’s the problem :). When i look at my +drive i see a bunch of my samples inside the samples subdirectory. And i use them using the soundbrowser on the the device just fine.

When i connect the Digitakt iI to overbridge though, and I look at the soundbrowser (preset browser), I can only see sounds in the banks A-H, nothing from the samples…

And while i was doing this to reconstruct mysteps, i found it. I need to be in the kit-editor and “assign samples”, not in the preset Browser. From using the syntakt i was used to find all my sounds in the “sound browser”.

Talking about a problem most often solves the problem
