Overbridge crashing brand new Mac going to die of frustration

I have a brand new iMac. As soon as loaded the newest version of Overbridge Ableton started loading really slowly, then crashing and freezing.

Uninstalled overbridge.

Computer keeps crashing and restarting. In restart report says panic: kernel trap. then below, overbridge kernel.

I do a search of my computer and try to delete all Overbridge related stuff. But computer wont let me delete Elektron.overbridge.kext

Despite having uninstalled overbridge. computer keeps crashing.

Someone please help

Try booting in safe mode and removing the kext:

OK. Thank you
Safe mode boot crashed.
Did an SMC Reset. Kext was gone. Functioning well.

My question now is do I reinstall Overbridge?

For people curious how to do an SMC reset on a mac.
Shut down mac, unplug power cord.
Wait 15 seconds then plug power cord back in.
Wait 5 seconds then power on.

I then did an NVRAM reset.
Shut down.
Turn on mac and hold Command + P + R, release after 20 seconds.

Scary… good that it s solved

Problem is not fixed after all .
Computer crashed again. Kernel still there. Will see if can boot in safe mode.
About to give up on Elektron after this.

Overbridge kext still stuck in my computer. Crashing brand new iMac with a kernal crash.
Newly downloaded ableton not working at all.

Uninstalled Overbridge. the kext is still in there, keeps crashing computer, ableton stuck not working.

Someone please help.

Tried getting rid of kext with rm -rf command, didn’t work.

Tried reinstalling macOS.

Didnt work

Sounds like a job for Elektron support. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Did you use the Overbridge uninstaller that comes with the download? you have to restart after uninstall (it forces you to do so) and that’s when all this stuff gets cleared out.

do you mean I need to uninstall and then install again? ???

Yes, and be sure to use the proper uninstaller and reboot between uninstall and install.
