The overbridge open beta is due out this month right?
One can hope - and hopefully open really means open
To me it seems unlikely; just compare the Messe 2014 and the Namm 2015 videos from SonicState to see how far they actually are with OverBridge!
So far only a screen shot of the editor…

Overbridge is beginning to look like vaporware. I wonder why they announced it a year ago since it seems they really had nothing ready then and not much now.
It’s a bit sad because I bet many people (myself included) based their purchase decision partly on Overbridge that was originally promised to be available last year.
Luckily Elektron’s Analog line is quite nice even without Overbridge but it still feels like a letdown if Overbridge is delayed even more.
Vaporware? Did you watch the NAMM videos?
I think even the guys in Elektron would agree that they announced OB with a very optimistic and, in hindsight, unrealistic time frame but you can’t really shout “vapourware”. The audio streaming and front end has been shown to work quite well. The vst side clearly needs development.
My gut feel - beta to be released at the end of the Science Lab Challenge. Either on the closing date or results announcement. No real reason why I think that other than it would be pretty cool to coincide the release of the beta as part of the competition.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if we get the audio part first with the VST delivered in a subsequent update to avoid another x month delay.
Anyway, what’s the rush? I’d rather time was taken and everything was working very well.
Actually, I want OB out as quickly as possible and have it be as rock solid as it can be.
Why?
So they can get back to fixing bugs and doing OS updates to their actual hardware units.

It seems like they are short on developers with a long TODO list and little to no quality testers. This is unfortunate for their users.
Overbridge apparently works, but the different hardware configurations makes testing and validation complicated.
quoted for truth.
I prefer to wait until its ready and rock solid,
My guess, not before late spring.
Looking forward to the Beta release, I have lots of stuff I want to use it with and the new protocol for syncing would be helpful, even with my Octatrack that does not have Overbridge capabilities. Because I could use the a4 or rytm stereo audio in to jam s groove into Ableton!
I’d be happy with multi track audio into DAW for now. Really want ot be able to record jam sessions properly. Everything else sounds great too, but I don’t “need” it as much right this moment.
I would be happy with just the multi-track audio as well - Most of the fun of the Keys is all about working in the box. It would be nice to free up some audio inputs for my other gear though.
In only three videos in circulation is seen only vst to A4 but not AR right?
Sorry but I mean VST plugin.
In the video on the web I only see the plugin AK, which should not be that much different than A4, right?
Not available videos of AR VST plugin
There has been videos with OB used within Live with an AR. In fact it was AR and AK simultaneously from memory. Wasn’t much on it so not sure how tracks and voices routed. We’ll find out soon enough! Think it was Nick’s Sonic State video.
