Overbridge as Audio Interface for Ipad?

Does the Ipad ‘see’ Overbridge via USB and show up as an audio interface? Can the Ipad’s audio then be routed to the A4’s line in?
TIA,
CCQ

We can’t say for sure because it doesn’t exist in public beta yet…

But, from what I understand, A4 will show up as a plug-in, not an audio interface.
However, you will be able to route channels 1, 2, 3, 4, mix L, mix R, and input L, input R. to any channel in your DAW.

In other words, you’ll be able to hook your iPad’s audio output up to the external input on A4, and input that into your DAW. (But not going in as an “audio interface”, but rather as audio coming in via a plug-in).

Thank you. I had no idea it wasn’t real yet.

also they havent mentioned anything about supporting iOS either, so it probly wont work on the ipad even after it is released

that would be cool tho…

Is the A4 class compliant? I don’t have one to check, but if it is not, it’s not going to work with the iPad regardless.

Class compliant midi, yes
As for audio, it transmits no audio over USB (until OverBridge).

If Overbridge is a VST, then it can’t be of any use with iOS, even if whichever Elektron device was fully class compliant for both MIDI and audio.

Unless Elektron decides to write an Overbridge app…

the new audiomux app gives you direct digital audio transfer from your ipad right into your daw via usb. no need to take the detour over the A4 or any audio interface anymore.

Wow! Great tip!
I hadn’t heard of this yet.

Not if you are on Windows it doesn’t. Yet…
Also, IIRC, it is only one way, so far- you can’t use an iPad app as you would a plug in- like send audio out from the computer, through an app, and back to your computer.

Still a great hack though at least till Apple does something to ruin it

I use my gear to play live - hardly ever track. I was hoping to route the audio from my Ipad to the line in on the A4 or perhaps the other way around and then add effects. Also, to merge the signals into just one pair so I can skip the external mixer.

That will work as A4 operates currently via the A4 line inputs, even without Overbridge. Just not over USB.

I’m also hoping that iPad integration will occur one day. An app would be great. But, for now there is routing the stereo outs via my sound card into Auria, for example. And there is also Music IO which already has midi/audio, bi-directional routing between many devices and computers. And they’re working on a Windows version…There is a Beta, already.

Music IO is fantastic! Working great on Windows for me, and it’ll only get better.

If you read the read me carefully you can see that the guys at electron can run Yosemite™ on a ThinkPad™!

So it might run also on iOS™ ! At least in PhotoShop™.

I Would love to see an Overbridge app to use it with my iphone
