so interesting, just wanted to share
makes me think even more how insanely powerful something like Ableton is.

Those early Oval records are amazing.
Though things got a lot easier when they realized that records should be round
Oval albums were played frequently in the house I lived in college… so much appreciation for Markus and mille plateaux and the original glitch scene
“Systemisch” is one of my most favourite albums. I even still have it on a cassette bought in 2000. It’s the last cassette I have, and I don’t even have a cassette player anymore.
I like the simplicity and the graphics of the program.
I’m still a huge fan of Oval. I got into Ovalcommers from the bonus area of Rez, but also just getting into noisy electronic music in general. Its still my favorite Oval album, though I know its a remix of previous work that extra level of choppiness really does it for me.
a beautiful item even without being able to play it
I’ve had a track of mine on a cassette release which I’ve never heard as I don’t have a cassette deck either, I should probably get one sometime.
it’s very nice to hear of these anecdotes from fellow Oval/Mille Plateaux listeners.
I’m going to spend this winter listening thru the back catalogue.
