Anyone who owns this use mini to 1/4” jacks ?

I do, yeah. This Hosa cable works great.

Later tonight I think I’ll do a long live stream with the unit playing my live set through it to have some fun. I’ll post a link here when I get around to it.

Here it is, a 90 minute jam I performed tonight using Polyend Play+, 1010music Blackbox and OTO Bébé Chérie. All music is my own, I think you get a pretty good idea of what the tilt EQ, compressor and bliss knobs do by the end of this:

Nice - the Bebe seems to be pretty perfect for the way you’ve got your sounds setup, where you can can focus on the Bebe for live shaping the sounds (as opposed to doing it on the Blackbox for example which isn’t that nice for live knob twiddling right?) Your music through this little mixer sounds great.

I really enjoyed this. It was really cool to see how you mixed in new sounds using only two channels. I have a TX-6 and thought I would never need any other mixer but using it like you did here would be kind of difficult with that. Nice work :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

thanks guys

@lesstalkmoredisco - I had preordered, then canceled my preorder, then I found one…back and forth with this thing. Generally when I perform the mixer is my 1010 Bluebox, which allows you to record everything and mix in a send effect. I know the aux bus can be used in that fashion here…maybe something to consider next time I set up, to have a send/return going and the master summed and out of the Bluebox.
As a “performance” mixer, this thing rules. The tilt EQ can be a really effective tool. Haven’t tired the Bax transformer channels yet - which might be even better!

@Boboulus - transitions are the bane of anybody trying to go all-hardware, amirite? Usually I use a send effect to help make things a little more smooth between tracks. The Blackbox shines here in that changing presets (in my case songs) is near-instantaneous and the MIDI clock is spot on. The Blackbox’s delay and reverb fx are really great for “oops I made a mistake and triggered the wrong loop let’s pretend I did it on purpose”

I have the feeling that performance/creative mixers are the new thing

Hello Elektronauts,

I’ve just ordered the pink candie which should arrive next week.
But i’m a total newcomer with stereo minijack, to dual mono jack, and
, dual RCa.

Apparently quality matters and i’d love the colour not to be ugly. I’m lost under the million brands i can find, is there any specific reliable brand cool you would recommend
?

Thanksfor the advices guys, Matt,

Hi Matt,

Welcome back! I think any music store brand such as the Thomann ones should be good enough. No need to spend a lot of money on cables.

Yeah I just use Hosa cables. Most of my gear is ¼” TS so getting a y-cable is essential but I don’t think it’s a big deal. Play+ and the Blackbox are both ⅛” TRS out so a normal aux cable works fine.

Thanks for the heads up! I just picked up that bargain from Soundgas. It’s just too cute and perfect for what I have in mind. I will be feeding it Model:Samples and my Roland Compact trio (S-1, J-6, E-4). So all boxes have their own FX and Bebe Cherie will be supplying the grit, bliss and compression :raised_hands:

Soundgas were doing them for £488 in a 10% off flash sale but I missed it

That was the ex-vat price, click on it and it was 585 with vat.

Juno are doing it now for 593 inc vat, which is not that much more.
