OTHER transition loopers (Octatrack style)

Noticed the thread by @AdamJay about the Kaoss Pad as a transition looper. I just wanted to broaden then search to any looper. Is there any hardware device that does a good approximation of the Octatrack transition trick? I was looking the the Electro Harmonix 45000 which seems to have a wet/dry fader. Any body have experience with the device? Thanks fam.

Hey, brother…

I came across the 45000 too.
At first I dismissed it as i thought it could only record 4 mono loops and mix (bounce, stack) them to stereo, but it turns out to have a stereo mode that allows you to record 2 stereo loops instead, and still have the ability bounce/stack them as well.

Other one is Pigtronix Infinity Looper. A little less expensive. No dry/wet but you do get midi sync’d stereo looping and some other fun features.

I’m leaning toward the 45000, but would also love to hear from some folks who have experience with it. Aside from Reggie Watts, I saw Karenn use it in a live techno set with loads of Elektrons and a Tempest.

another interesting looper is the boomerang 3 phrase sampler.
has anyone experience with that one combined with electronic/stereo stuff ?

every time i use my kaoss pad 3, i love it a little more. unfortunately I didn’t make my own fx in it yet, it must be possible.

only thing I am missing, is a separate EQ for incomming signal and for loop.

This is something the Octatrack does have. I tried the XONE DB4, but this one wasn’t really stable for looping. It’s auto loop didn’t work correctly, and strange enough it only could sync midi with a USB cable. I need midi, since I don’t use a computer.

I know I can add a mixer to my KP3, like my favorite mixer DATEQ XTC 2, but I prefer a small and light setup, and this mixer is big and very heavy.

If someone has a suggestion for a looper with separate eq for loop and for input… I will be very interested.

I don’t have one but can’t the rc-505 do this? But it’s just volume I guess.
