I use this on every channel / bus! I love it. I was super excited when they released the 50, because I’ve always loved the API sound, especially 550a EQs, but I just don’t like the interface as much as the 80 and weirdly it’s missing a few features that the 80 has, like in/out gain. The 80 is so strong.
Indeed it is, recently updated to do M/S too, with a bunch of other extra features and new layout!
You still have me interested in these. Did they never make a stereo one? If I ever see one cheap enough second hand, I’d be tempted to try it, maybe even adapt it for use with mics.
It has its own character and that is a plus. I first considered the analog heat but the heat lacks character like the analog drive from elektron. I think it’s a matter of Taste

I recommend to heat it up for at least 20-30 minutes.

EHX 2ube (plus some vintage tubes from ebay) is a good and cheap option. Recommend a Behringer HD400 with it to eliminate hum.

Nice, looking neat! I built a custom wood riser for my desk, with holes for cables to come up through and channels for them to run neatly underneath… Which is great, until you need to change anything! Not to mention the longer cable runs distributing signals to my synths around the room

I have normally all my stuff an a travel case for jamming with friends but since corona restrictions we try to minimize that events. That’s why I needed a portable warming unit/ Filter 2 go. I don’t like to take my computer with me cause it’s old n heavy 
.
OTO Boum will save you like $150. You could also look into the recently announced Dreadbox Kinematic. Even if you bought two (for stereo) it would be a significant savings.

Heat has some really nice filters and envelope and LFO’s to modulate pretty much any parameter though. I mean as far as distortion units go sure there are endless options, but if you want full AH functionality it will cost you significantly more.
