Get a bigger mixer! hehe.
Or get a patchbay so you can select where in the chain you want the acidbox. Seems like a box you would want to use on different things depending on what you are doing.

I use my Moog Sub Phatty or Arturia Minibrute filterās with the feedback overdrive in there to warm things up.
Another option seems to be the Boss BX-4 (pocket size version of BX-8), which distorts easily.
i want something that sounds like the behringer super fuzz, but in stereo with dry/wet control ā¦
I just got myself the EHX Operation Overlord. Great, cheap alternative.
For around 100$ used, itās hard to beat.
This. Exactly this!
I have a Boss Hyper Fuzz, itās dope
In the box, Output Thermal. Probably quite similar to Saturn 2 which Iāve seen mentioned a few times from my quick scroll down, but has loads of other effects built in like nice reverbs and delays. Layout makes more sense to me than Saturn.
Iāve ended up falling in love with Saturn 2. Initially I was mentally clashing with itās interface and just using it to browse presets. I spent some time getting to know it and itās certainly my go-to now as it can do everything to cleaning up, warming up, smoothing out and full-on destruction.
Source Audio did a stereo fuzz a few years ago; kingmaker, I think it was called. Not sure if it had dry/wet control.
Saturn 2 tingles my dingles. Adding a little Volcano at the end wallops my polyps.
Hey, could you tell me if the LPD 2ube is a good EOC fx, or is it more for saturating a synth within the chain? Iām curious if it does a good job of passing all freqs through, or if the tubes cut highs or low off?
THE most underrated swedish device of allā¦

To come back to OPās question, I really enjoy what the Bastl Bestie has to offer.
I use it together with a RNC, I like how it can be very quickly wild but still do the job calmly when knobs are before noon.
A 5 stereo mixer in a compact format is ace.
Discussion here.
Hi!
I have several synths-no drum machines yet- running into A & H Zed 10 mixer and the mixer stereo out into a Tascam DR40X portable recorder.
Recordings areā¦fine mix-wise, however they do sound a bit flat. You can tell some of the body and presence-warmth?- of the original signal gets cut out.
I have been reading a bit around, and I hear names like Analog Heat, Oto Boum or FMR NRLA been thrown around a lot as devices capable of adding some extra āgirthā to the sound.
I am wondering if any of these would be beneficial on the master, also bearing in mind that the music is broadly speaking āambientā with little bass and no drums.
Recommendations appreciated!
( Only hardware based please - I have already fiddled around with an audio interface and iPad)
Did you try running the channels 3 and 4 hot with high gain mode on? (Assuming you donāt have the Zed10FX) This results in great sounding distortion. Love it on my 909 and 303, but sounds great on pretty much anything.
Iāve read this whole thread looking for the name of a stereo high-end hardware unit for saturation that Iāve forgotten and I still donāt know it.
Itās a famous old school rack for warmth/saturation with a simplistic/silly name I think, that is very expensive and renowned for sounding good but out of reach due to its price. I feel like itās black and white? Does anyone know?
edit: Thermionic Culture Vulture
Silver Bullet?
not the one I was thinking of, thanks anyway. Itās more vintage than that, like an old studio classic/very expensive with a quirky design and name (the smacker slapper, striver driver, smack attack⦠nothing like that but kind of lol) I actually heard of it somewhere in this forum but now canāt find it again.
Edit: omg ChatGPT got it right first go, itās the Thermionic Culture Vulture lmao
maybe Culture Vulture or the Overstayer Modular Channel?
