OT runs record buffers when slaved from Torso.. How do I disable that?

A duo of us play a quite a few instruments with limited THRU ports on them. When we run OT as a slave from Torso, I notice that OT starts recording its buffers 2,3,4 every bar. I don’t want that to happen. So two questions:
What kind are the messages that run OT’s buffers on and off? And how do I disable OT from picking them up?
Second question, is it true that running OT’s rec buffers excessively can impair RAM’s durability? I have general hearsay info (that may be a silly myth) that flash memory may expire. But can RAM expire? Would you worry if something ran OT’s record buffers 24/7 (granted you don’t have to use them yourself)?

PS: Wiring makes it necessary that I have to run OT as a slave from a friends Torso sequencer, otherwise there is not enough midi thrus so I have to employ OT’s midi thru.

Midi notes with midi channels corresponding to audio track channels.
You can disable Notes IN in MIDI CONTROL menu, or choose another mode (check manual for more precisions).

You can also disable audio tracks midi channels in MIDI CHANNELS menu if you don’t want to control audio tracks externally.

I had the same happen but on Track 1 only in OT :slight_smile:

I am going to put T1 after OT anyway.

Much more reliable than CF card for sure, but I don’t know how it works, nor Digis +Drive. @tnussb ?

I prefer to use FLEX (RAM) than STATIC (CF CARD) machines, but if you need max RAM for recordings, you have to give priority to STATIC machines.

No, not by just writing to it.

Memory cells of DRAMs are based on capacitors which discharges over time automatically and needs to be refreshed periodically (quite a few times per second). So you can think of DRAM as being constantly written to just by this refresh mechanism.
