Hey Eleketronauts,
I know this has been discussed multiple times, but I’ve not really found a sufficient answer on what the best way to do this is. So basically, I have my cue outputs in use as they are hooked up to some fx units and most of my tracks are outputting stereo signals, so I can only really record one stereo track at a time.
Considering this, that, what is the best way to do this? It seems to me I’d have to mute all tracks and then record each stereo track isolated.
However, as there is a certain performance element to my track, I need to hear the other elements of the track playing while recording in each part. I guess this is impossible however seeing as my cue outputs are in use? Considering this, is there anyway to overdub (so I can free up the cue outputs) the audio of an entire tracks output through the duration of the whole arrangement (combining the original signal with the fx) or would I need to record using a flex recorder or each pattern individually? Are there any other ways perhaps to hook up fx units? Any workarounds or suggestions are welcome …
Also does anyone have any workarounds for the issue of scenes. To my knowledge the OT audio tracks don’t send midi, so it seems if you want to export via multitrack its kind of guess work in matching the movement of the scenes for each track individually? Is doing it this way literally the only way to do it if you want to multitrack?
More generally, how do all of you get your tracks from OT > finished product? What is your workflow? Mixing internally seems too limited to me, how many of you opt for this? If opting for multitrack output, how do you do set this up, and how do you get the best results when using scenes?
