OT not sending MIDI-chords in chromatic mode

Heya! I just bought an A4 to accompany my OT mk2.

When i play on the keyboard (the 1-16 triggers) in chromatic mode, the OT doesn’t seem to send chords, even though i’ve set up a 4-note chord (e.g. C, 3, 7, 10). However, when i enter the note on a trig, the whole chord is played on the A4, but not when i freestyle in chromatic mode, only a single note is sent and played. I can also play chords (if i press four simultaneous buttons on the keyboard) in chromatic mode, but not using the MIDI chord funktion (when you’re supposed to be able to play chords using a single button).

Any1 knows how to achieve this? It’s essential to my deep house to be able to play 7th-chords and transpose them up and down.

Big thanks in advance!

It doesn’t work that way - the 3 additional Note params are for the sequencer(chord or arp), when you live play, you can enter to the sequencer recording or over-ride the sequencer data - but it won’t play those notes as a chord or ARP if you hit one key

Just as avantronica just explained, there isn’t a ‘Chord’ function as such but there is a work around using the 2 OSC’s and Sub on the A4 to create chords, here’s a forum link which explains in detail how to set it up.

Another solution would be to sample various chords as one long sample and create slices which will allow you to choose different chords when changing the slices on the playback page (make sure to turn on slices by double tapping the playback page)

also - if you were dead set on having just a few chords triggered from a midi sequencer and not much else … you could use the midi tracks in plays free mode and store 8 chords on the first trigs of the (up to) 8 tracks(chords) and trig them in tracks mode - so it’s a chord memorizer of sorts, but perhaps a waste of the OT’s potential
