OT MK2 headphone out broken

Wow, just wow. After a little more than a month, my OT MK2s headphone out seems to be broken. Out of the blue, it became extremely noisy and distorted. I checked with different headphones (which I confirmed to be functional on other devices). When hard panning everything to the right, no sound comes out at all. After letting the OT cool off a little, the issue was gone. Unfortunately, it came back after a few minutes of playing. I’ll contact my retailer tomorrow for a replacement.

Early-adopters-first-batch syndrome?
Hopefully not the case.

Probably, I should know better, but I’m terrible at waiting. Besides, soldering is pretty much a solved problem and that’s probably what it is, a f#cked up joint. Oh well…

Aw man that’s too bad. I dont think 1st batch syndrome is an acceptable excuse to be honest. Hopefully not something that will become a recurring issue.

Not used mine in a while but kind feel I should get it turned on and to put it through its paces for an extended time.

Things look way better now that I’ve had two beers. I’ll be at the shop I bought it from first thing in the morning, then I’ll tear down the walls of my house with the new one. The downside is that music stores are not really safe places for me to visit🤔

No Mk1 still there? As Backup?

I hope everything will be Ok tomorrow ! :beers:
My very old MkI headphones outputs works perfectly, not the case of my headphones and the Psu I have to repair / change.
Can’t use it without stress, with 2 issues.
Not very difficult to repair.

I’m having my first beer in months after moving for three days, I’m staring to feel better about your headphones too! :beers:

Well, there’s only so much redundancy a man can afford. Though you could argue that a second Octatrack isn’t really redundant.

…or so I thought. Had to send my OT MK2 to Sweden today with a faulty headphone out. The guy at the store didn‘t seem to be the biggest fan of Elektron QC and mentioned they had quite a few returns due to hardware issues :frowning:

Did the man at the shop give you another Octatrack MK2–Store demo unit you can use in meantime?

They didn‘t and I didn‘t ask for it. I‘m not into shared Octatracks and there are enough other instruments to keep me busy.

Ahhh HA HA HA!
I often dream of another OT.
One for the RYTM, one for the A4, leaving more room for sampling of course.
