OT Midi out/through switch?

There are times I want the DAW to sequence my euro rack gear, and times I want the OT to do it. In other words sometimes I want the Midi out port, and sometimes I want the Midi Thru port. Does anybody know of a hardware solution that allows you to switch without getting behind the box and physically swapping cables. Or is there a good method for always using In/Out, but placing the OT in “bypass” mode? The clock source needs to change so hopefully you don’t have OT and DAW fighting over providing Midi clock source. My setup is OT -> dumb Midi hub (1 In, 6 Out)-> Nerdseq, VCO, Intellijel Midi1U, Motu Midi In. It’s entirely possible I could use a far better topology. #shrug It’s also possible I’m conflating Midi clock and Midi note data.

If you mute a MIDI track on the OT it will no longer send notes from its sequencer, and if the channel is set correctly it’ll pass notes out from the MIDI in. So that should allow you to use both just by alternately muting the DAW or OT tracks.

You could also potentially use a MIDI controller button to mute both an OT track and the DAW track at the same time if you set up the correct CC for the OT and learn it from the DAW.

Not sure about the clock tbh.

Get a midi patchbay. I have a kawai mav-8 which I like because it’s stupid and cheap but there are plenty of fancier ones out there too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just reconfigured my setup, so I will experiment with mutes., and shop some Midi patch bay solutions. Deciding what to use as master clock has proved to be a bigger challenge than expected as well.

I second @GurtTractor 's suggestion.
Midi tracks channels have to be different from audio tracks channels (MIDI > CHANNELS) otherwise midi tracks can’t receive midi data.

A midi patchbay is interesting for bigger setups for sure.

I have an Roland A880. 8x8 midi matrix. Big, but no setup, just press corresponding buttons together for routing. (Computerless setup)
