OT - Microkorg s bank program change solved!

finally i found the instruction and it says two banks MSB 0=0 / LSB 32 = 0 and second MSB0=0 / LSB 32=1
i set it in OT midi track but no result. seems it doest send this command… Guys who understand that stuff?

You have to send those messages in the right order : CC0, CC32, PC

For bank C/D :
Set your Prog Change
Place a trig with CC0=0 and CC32=1
Microtiming = - 5/384
Voilà.

CCs with same values are sent only once, so maybe you’ll have to stop / double stop for tests, or place another trig with different values.

cant get it((( https://youtu.be/ORb7Q4BPUHk

In Midi Note Setup page, set Bank to off.

Set your Prog Change
On trig 1, set CC0=0 and CC32=1
Hold the trig and press left arrow to set Microtiming = - 5/384

i tried any combinations. Something wrong with that shit :rage: https://youtu.be/HqzJellcu3w
Does anybody succeed whit it?

Sorry I corrected my above mistake, CC32 value has to be = 1 for Bank C/D.

Try with a new project to be sure.
If it doesn’t work, try to use a midi monitor software to check what messages are sent by the OT, and if they are in the right order.

Doesnt work((( i cant check midi for now. Dont have midi interface for pc

Yes.

In your first pattern on the OT, follow the instructions given by @sezare56 with CC 0 = 0 and CC 32 = 0 or 1 (according to the table given by Korg) and the appropriate Program Change number. Save the Part (for example, as Part 1).

Now follow the instructions given by @sezare56 in the second pattern. Then save the Part as a different number to the Part number that you used previously.

The OT only sends the Program Change message when it switches to a pattern that is associated with a different Part.

Yeah I think this is a good approach as the OT sends the PC only once. Tests with 2 patterns with different Parts and different PC / CC values might be easier.

@PeterHanes and @beta it works well with 2 patterns, but you have to add a CC0 with a value different from 0, otherwise CC0 won’t be sent again, and a CC32 with a value different from 0 or 1, otherwise it won’t be sent in the right order !

Patt 1 > Part 1 > PC 1
One trig on first step with CC0=0, CC32=0, -5/384 microtiming
One trig on last step with CC0=127, CC32=127

Patt 2 > Part 2 > PC 2
One trig on first step with CC0=0, CC32=1, -5/384 microtiming
One trig on last step with CC0=127, CC32=127

(If you press stop, then double stop, the Prog Change is sent, followed by the CCs.
So maybe stop + 2 x stop + 2 x stop would work…:sketchy:)
Easy no ? :loopy:

this also not work)) and its really complicated. And one more thing i noticed. not every pattern remembers program change namber! i can put different pc on different patterns but after several times playing them its ngoing to same . only pattern 2 can remember his pc in midi track setup. what a ?

Totally. Without a midi monitor to check, it can be a nightmare.

It can be simpler with a midi processor such as Midi Solution Event Processor, that would let you set Bank and PC in the regular page without additional CCs. It can be mapped to corresponding CC0/CC32. I have one to test it.

Or change bank manually and send PC only.

Do you press the knob to validate PC number ?

shure! Does it have to save a PC per pattern?

You need a different part per pattern if you want a different PC.

yeah, i had to switch on system exclusive on my korg to recieve bnk lsb change. Now c and d banks availible but to trig them is really mess

i’m shure i’ll forget the rigth patch in particular song. Now i start play first pattern via midi, right patch is on, tweaking knobs. On next pattern this instrument already sampled and another patch ready to play improvisation an stuff)) like that style.

needed to separate different patches onto different parts.
System exclusive messages must be ON on the synth.

The working setup is:

Pattern 1 > Part 1 > PC 1 (midi track setup (Program Change n1)
One trig on first step with CC32=0, -5/384 microtiming

Pattern 2 > Part 2 > PC 2 (midi track setup (Program Change n2)
One trig on first step with , CC32=1, -5/384 microtiming

Thanks Sezare56 !!

Hey I’m glad if it works for your Microkorg and other gear !
It was challenging, but as some people said it was not possible to send CC0+CC32+PC I’m quite happy with this workaround !

Are you sure System exclusive messages must be On?
No sysex sent from OT AFAIK.

after i switched it on my korg it started to recieve BNK LSD change.

Change your bank on LSD is weird indeed!
