I just copied some samples (.aif-files) from mac (10.12) to the OT (newest firmware). When I want to preview the copied sample on the OT some are just noise. But when I reconnect to OT to USB-mode and listen to the sample, it sounds correct ?!
Whats going on, any ideas?

Try to convert sample who not working in wav to see if it’s change something
What sample rate and bit depth do the problematic samples use?
44.100 and 24bit – all the same for the imported samples
I handpicked them now and converted them to .wav – now the OT is playing them back…
Interesting, should just work with .aif…

Both Flex and Static machines can handle 16 or 24 bit/44.1 kHz wav/aiff files, either in mono or stereo.
I’d try WAV. The AIFF container does work a bit differently I think.
yes, they are working right now after converting the selected noisy .aif files to wav (3 out of 10 and 6 out of 23). the sample-package contained .aif so that makes no sense that only a few of them are making trouble while others are fine.
I’ll try to copy/paste the samples directly to OT instead of within a folder. And I’ll try if the same samples aren’t readable or if it is like a random selection.
To me it make sense for music to production to use wav rather than aif (not every device read aif, starting directly to always use wav avoids multiple conversion too), as well as VST against AU… i know some will disagree… But after some problem too i prefer to stick to the standard, and i’m under Mac. BUT for Djing i like aif because of the cover photo and text to be sure to get anything on CDJ Decks / or by USB Sticks.
Anyway probably that explanation :
there appears to be two types: aiff or .aif (Big Endian) and .aiff or .aif (LIttle Endian) the latter being the problem ‘compressed’ file that won’t import into say 'recycle.

So I loaded up some old aiff-c loops encoded by Apple mainstage and an aif iTunes cd import and they all play fine in the OT, apparently YMMV…
