First off, this is a crazy awesome machine. Not as hard as I thought.
So this is highly subjective, but I want to get the pulse of the community and other OT user.
I have a Ditto x4 to loop my mopho which feeds into a delay reverb effect. I feel that I should ditch the Ditto x4 and loop directly on the OT. On the other hand, the Ditto is really simple to use and sync with midi and have a really long record time. On the flip side, the ditto seems to cut off some frequencies as it’s made for guitar, not so good for synth.
Maybe selling the Ditto x4 and get a foot midi pedal- What are people using for Midi pedals these day? Anyone uses an external looper as well as the OT?
Second I have a few effect pedals, I like these a lot, the Avalanche Run is for me a really good delay/reverb. One way would be to plug my synth in the effect pedal then in the OT, or should the OT out be connected to the effect? How do people use external effect? You can loop it trough the Cue but then that eats up the CUE and 2 ins.
I use 3 synth, Mopho in mono mode, Medusa and the Typhon and I have a recorder, VS-1880 (a hardware DAW if that is how you call them). Wondering if I should route everything trough the OT, then effect, or some in the OT some in the DAW ?? Using the 4 out of the OT in the DAW + 2 other channel for the Typhon? Does it make more sense to have my synth controled in Midi so that I can continually change the sound from the Midi, or it’s simpler to record loops from the synth and then modify them in the OT?
Anyway - I’m kind of thinking out loud here, I like creating fairly minimal track with 2 or 3 synth with field recording background and a bit of a drum kit, so nothing too complex. I know there is no one answer or right way to do it, but I’d like to hear more how people setup their looping/effect/sequencing choosing between Midi or sampling live etc…
