OT file transfer disabled

Something’s gone wrong inside my OT. I might have pulled the USB cable once before exiting USB mode (but not before safe removal from host PC). The situation right now is such that I see the USB storage device when it is connected, but file transfers to the machine go wrong and get errors (after taking ~30sec). Anybody else had this? What’s the fix?

Format card usually works.

This has just happened to me, except i don’t even see the disk showing up on the computer. Octatrack says it is connected, computer doesnt even ‘see’ it.

This has happened since the 1.25E update, i’m not impressed, i’m having other issues as well. Boo hiss

My experience (Win7 / XP / OSX) is that the Octatrack needs to be plugged in whilst off to be recognised. Just plugging in and going to USB Disk mode, the driver never gets recognised.

Thanks for that info, just tried and it worked! Its not the OS after all! :astonished:

With my laptop (Win 7) if it is plugged in to USB audio and turned on when I boot the computer, the OT freezes.

That sounds like an issue with your OS (Win 7) and the driver organisation. You should be able to work around that via Control Panel → Computer Management and force drive letter for the Octatrack.

You using any virtual drives, VMWare, MagicDisc etc?

Solution is just to power on the OT only after Windows is already booted.

Obviously

Somehow, the problem fixed itself :).
I only connect the cable after USB mode has been activated now, and of course only disconnect after it’s been deactivated. Works like a charm.
