Just bought a DT + Analog heat about 6 months and although limited in sample time it’s my favorite sampler I’ve owned
Have had almost every sp and a couple mpc’s and the workflow is unparalleled regardless of the current hiccups with the buggy OS.
But I kinda wanna buy an OT soon. I’m planning on using the OT for longer samples/melodies and remixing full songs. Using it as the “brain” of my live setup
Seems like the combo wouldn’t really work too well until we can track out the individual tracks on the DT which I believe we’re getting with the upcoming update
But who uses both? Do u feel it’s unecessary and prefer to just make a full song in one unit?
I have an ot mk2 and it’s great on its own, but I think a digitakt would be a great partner for it. Since the two machines have different sounds (the digitakt having the high end boost and dif effects) I think that they compliment eachother rather than overlap.
I have both… I am using them for different jobs. The Digitakt is a fast and easy way to record and sequence one-shot samples and the effects sound really good. I tend to use the Octatrack for more unusual stuff - most often things that are sampled and tweaked on the fly. But both are good and complete on their own, too. I usually combine them with other gear, rather than making entire songs on a single unit.
