Hi,
In OT, does saving a project automatically save all parts of all banks?
I’m asking because I’m always saving all parts of each bank before saving a project, and as a project grows, it can become tedious. And currently not with my OT so I can’t test.
How do you octanauts manage this?
Thanks!
…yes.
Thanks a lot, will save me time
Saving project saves part parameters, it doesn’t save parts.
To be more precise, saving project saves all banks, including their part parameters (part parameters are stored in bank files). BUT saving project doesn’t change saved parts state.
If you save a part, then save project, then modify a part and save project, then reload the part, you’ll get the first saved state. See what I mean ?
I usually don’t save parts, takes a lot of time because you have to do it systematically after you saved it once. If you don’t save parts, part parameters are saved with banks/project anyway.
I save parts only if I want to reload them during live tweaking.
Totally get it. That is exactly what I want to achieve, similar as “Reload pattern” on DT.
So that means I have to always save parts before saving project. And also because I will you use parts for different machines or samples on one track through a same bank.
Thanks!
What’s “interesting” (and sometimes annoying) is that save all option only saves parts in current bank
Good to mention it, as 4 parts are associated to 1 bank.
Would have been great to have a setting to save everything on project save. But well, I’ll live without it
Depends if you tweak and use PART RELOAD. I prefer to tweak with crossfader/scenes and a few parameters that I put back to intended value.
So I don’t save parts. I save banks or project, which include parts settings.
Good idea.
