OT bug? Playback Trig doesn't play sample

I’m at a loss to understand this behavior. My process is pretty simple. On track 1 I record a sample into the recorder buffer. RECORDING1 is set as the sample for track 1. The recorded sample plays back fine with FUNC + YES, but when I try to playback the sample with the sequencer, it refuses to trigger. This happens sometimes, but not always. I doubt this is a bug, but I don’t have any other ideas what could be going on. Any thoughts as to why this might be happening?

A few parameters on the track can silence the track. Check parameters, scenes lfos…

Try to play the buffer in a fresh bank or cleared part…

In your video there’s a USB cable plugged into it. Try unplugging it

thanks for the idea, unfortunately I’m getting the same result…

Tried a fresh bank as well as multiple parts. No playback at all, on track 1.

However… when I load RECORDING1 buffer into track 2 (or others), the trigs play the recording as expected.

Can you trigger it with trig 9 on default Trig mode ?

Not a Play Free track I guess.
A stuck midi note ? Power cycle to check.

Yep it does play with trig 9. And yes power cycling does resolve the issue. However, this seems to be happening at some point during most sessions lately. So I wouldn’t want to be power cycling all the time.

Regarding the stuck midi note idea… I wonder if my MIDI pedal may be causing issues. I think I will disconnect it and see if the problem continues.

Which midi notes do you send with it ?
Check if it sends notes off after notes on…

one button = Note 61, ch. 11 > Note On = Record AB

another button = Note 64, ch. 11 > Note On = Play/Stop

I don’t believe they send note off messages along with the note on messages. There is a separate option in the editor for note off commands. I did have that set up for a time when I was experimenting with a HOLD rec trig setting, however I have since disabled it and still experienced this behavior.

I can’t reproduce the issue at will, however after some more investigating it seems this may be related to using pickup machines while the OT is externally synced. When attempting to overdub with external sync, the OT seems to glitch out and says “P1 Dub Aborted”. Then, sometimes, when switching the track to Flex, it won’t play the sample. However, this doesn’t always happen. Will keep trying to pin this down!

Have the same problem. How did you solve it?

I still haven’t been able do extensive testing, but for now my solution is to not use pickup machines when the OT is externally synced.
