I just bought myself an OT for my own birthday. Nobody else was going to do it! 
I have been on the fence about getting an OT for over a year. Watching videos never convinced me that I would like it, and in fact, made the machine seem far more difficult than it really is. 
This machine is not as difficult to learn as many people claim it to be. Granted, I am well accustomed to my MNM and MD already, so the workflow is very familiar. I believe that the fear people have of the OT comes from the absolute vastness of what it can do. If you try to comprehend it before using it, you will never use it! This was my issue. 
Also, sampling is easy! There is so much talk about how hard it is to sample …these people must be very lazy indeed! I sat down to learn how to sample, and in minutes I had enough understanding to start layering a simple track, recording stuff from my iPad. Super fun! 
I know that this machine will be a long term learning process. But having gone through this with my first Elektron, I know that the rewards will be well worth the perseverance that it will take. Nothing worth a damn is easy!
