I have a problem with my new Sh01a.
I use a OT MKII as master in my setup, it’s midi out goes through a midi split box, into the A4, Virus and the SH-01a. The problem is that the intern sequencer of the SH-01a starts when i send the start signal/press play on the OT.
How can i use the almighty sequencer of the Octatrack instead of the SH01 intern sequencer? The start and clock signal are needed for the A4 and a tr-8. Unfortunately there is no option listed in the flyer that Roland calls a manual…
And second question, maybe someone knows the answer: Sometimes my brand new Virus ti2 desktop has hanging notes. They only stop when i press the panic mode!? OS Is the newest, even the VirusControl(plugin) works fine. I don’t use a pc in my setup, the virus gets the notes from the OT via midi.
Set the clock source to INTERNAL on the SH-01A. It is in the manual because I did this. I can’t remember the function exactly, but it’s simple and quick. Then it will receive the notes from the OT without triggering the transport on the sequencer.
Blank 1-1 pattern is actually my favorite solution…
I don’t get it why there is no simple transport option somewhere. This seems such a basic thing to implement…
Awesome! Thanks for all the help! Both techniques works, I guess I will yous the empty pattern method, otherwise I have always make sure to manuell sync the tempo!
The second problem with the virus was probably a issue with the midi split box. I just routed the midi from th OT into the Virus, then via „through“ from Virus to Analog four midi in and from there via through port to the Sh01a, and the from sh1a into the Tr8 and so on. Works perfect.
