Hey, sorry if this is covered elsewhere, feel free to tell me to RTFM if that’s the best bet! I’m a recent OT owner and new to trying to do a lot of midi syncing. I picked up a cheap M-Audio keyboard, the kind with just keys and mod/pitch wheels and no other control to speak of. Current setup is Midi keyboard > OT midi in > OT midi thru > a4 > DN. I just finished setting up template projects with auto channels turned on and track channels turned off and that is all working exactly as I intended. What I failed to realize is that the OT transport would not send to the midi thru port and the keyboard notes would not go through the OT out port.
Is there a work around for this at all or do I need to just pick up something external to control transport?
Now that I know that the out and thru ports send different messages I am assuming that my best option is most likely to pick up a midi keyboard that sends transport messages. But will that throw my whole set up off with each box set to recieve on a different auto channel?
That worked perfectly! Thanks so much, my input CD thru track isn’t making any noise now, lol, but the midi is going through exactly as intended and when directly monitoring that input it works!
Thru machine working now too. Weird that I had to hold the track and hit play on one thru machine but not both
