Noise in Overbridge mode from USB

noise here on the A4 also.

rytm seems solid.

iā€™ve noticed changing inputs/outputs in the OB control panel seems to send the A4 into noiseland

or if i hit play on the a4 too quickly after a live set is booted, i get noise.

however, yes, sync wise, its solid as once its going, also, little audio drop outs clicks and pops and glitches I am not noticing with this version.

if they sort the a4 this thing will be on fire.

that said, iā€™m still grappling with all the options and trying to come up with a best case workflow scenario.

its very easy to open up a live set and just have a wtf moment everytime you go near a track.

one thing I was doing also which maybe Iā€™m not so sure about anymoreā€¦ was having dedicated tracks for track 1 - 4 on the a4. i think it might be best if i just create tracks as I need them and record as i go.

but its trying to find that balance between what to leave live, and what to punch in, so you can still tweak parameters and not just have fixed audio.

anyway, i digressā€¦

I get noise and cracks in the audio when I record midi parameters automation.

Is there a OB 1.11 beta released?

PS. My A4 seq is not started when clocked to DAW, never has!

Half my sounds are screwed after the update

Thanks guys

I had the whine after OS1.22 and OB 1.10 Beta

Went away when I didnt use my powered USB3 hub and plugged direct into Win64 PC

Now happening to me aswell. Just plucked the a4 into another usb slot, OB didnt work anymore. De/re-installed everything, thought this might solve the problem. Now i get the same screaming noise, as soon as i activate OB on the A4 :frowning: . No sound transmitted to the OB controll panel. Hope this will get fixedā€¦

Has anybody submitted this as a bug report?

After upgrade - loud noise from A4 occurred in Overbridge mode.
Disabling AR helps. Looks like two machines canā€™t work together in
Logic Pro 10.2.2. :zonked:

This happens relatively rarely, but always unexpected. It is driving me insane. And deaf.

(OS X El Capitan, Ableton, A4)

I gave up on it for now :\ . Tried to change usb slots, different usb drivers, deinstallaed everything by hand a few times . I dont get sound into the contropanel anymore, just this horrible noise spikes a few times on the left main output (physical output + OB) as soon as i activated OB.
I also found out that the A4 driver doesnt install if its plugged into USB 2.0 slot, installtion will fail.

Iam on win7 64bit btw.

Its abit weird, because the update worked here until i reinstalled the control panel and elektron drivers.

For the usb/noise/overbridge issue.

Try this boys and girls:

Put the setting in your A4 on usb/midi only and start overbridge control panel.
In channel config inputs switch off your main inputs and after this set your A4 in overbridge mode.
For me the noise was gone after I did this. Now you can select the channels you want again in the overbridge control panel.

Hope this will work for you to

For anyone getting the noise issue, try switching the input to 24 bit and hit apply, that fixed it for me.

Cheers

Changing to 24 bit fixed it for me too

Thanks momec, that solved the problem for me too.

Since itā€™s a know issue, and the solution appears to be simple, I would suggest Elektron put it under FAQ on the Overbridge page. That would save people a lot of frustration.

Didnā€™t want this to be my first post, but I can not get rid of a hiss from the main outputs of the Analog Keys when using overbridge. It reads at -83db in my DAW. The individual tracks are totally silent, just an issue with PreFX and PostFX.

Changing to 24 bit on the overbridge control panel actually makes it worse.

Hey,
anyone else has some high frequency noise coming from overbridge?
IĀ“ve connected my gear to Xone:96 with master out into RME Babyface line inputs.
As soon as I switch on overbrige on any of the elektrons the high noise (ā€œfiepā€) is apparent even though the mixer is turned off!!

I tried also to set driver from Windows to ASIO and input/ output channel to 24bit in Control Panel but it is still there.

edit: also M:S is causing noise. Everything is plugged into Elektron Overhub

The power supply to my hub caused a similar noise for me. If I disconnect the wall power I have no noise. Iā€™m not using OverHub though.

Thanks, but overbridge ist without power supply. Should I feed it?
All USB ports are occupied.

Iā€™m not sure if that would make a difference. Is the mixer connected to USB or just the line out?

Mixer is without USB, just line signal.

But probably IĀ“ve fixed it. The digitone power supply was directly next to overhub. For some reasons this caused the noise while enabling overbridge.
I moved the power supply to another position and now its gone. Strange.
Will a shielding fleece remedy this phenomenon?

Iā€™m glad to hear you located the source of the noise.

As for the isolation fleece, Iā€™ve never used one, so I couldnā€™t say for sure.
