Yep, as snipes go, I’d have to agree.[/quote]
you could send messages directly to elektron
instead of clogging this forum with this flogged out dead horse
its beyond boring, and why you get the criticism.

A couple of people spoke of the lack of midi on an Elektron product on an Elektron forum, I too commented, that’s what the forum’s for.
Since you’re adding to the clogging of the forum, why not actually say something on the matter? And quote something relevant while you’re at it.

I would like them to add to the internal engine, and improve the int seq, this “update” is minor.
So lets see, there has already been numerous threads on the no midi out , so i called you out
because you could use those thread to whinge and gripe
and
meet like minded whingers and gripers
and
form a whingers and gripers forum,
I and many wouldn’t miss you and your self entitled ilk.
I already whinged and griped on those threads and will continue to do so wherever I see fit, you and your army of many’s disdain for me is not what I view as a convincing deterrent.
I don’t see how it was inappropriate to discuss the Analog Four’s lack of midi in this thread, there was no disrespectful derailment as this announcement was already officially posted by Elektron, shortly after, on the home page and the update’s content was never going to cause pages of discussion anyway.
I’d really like to start a thread on this matter to try and get a true feel for the average Analog Four user’s views on the worth of midi sequencing for the unit but am in two minds about it because of the school playground stuff which would probably accompany it

no, please do not continue the whinging and griping.
there’s been quite a bit of that lately, it makes the forum not exactly a fun place.

It becomes a “school playground” because people keep beating the same dead horse, over and over and over (and over …) again.
It gets tired!
No, the school playground bit closely follows as you so beautifully demonstrated.
Thank you for the link to the thread I already contributed to.
And, lastly, if you find repetition irksome you may want to read your post back to yourself before hitting “post reply” in the future.

Apparently (this is direct from the elektron horse’s mouth) they decided it wouldn’t have midi out at the beginning of the design process and therefore it doesn’t have the hardware capability (currently) to do midi out.
It does have the processing power to do OB though, which is clearly far more processing intensive.
So - can we set up a vote/poll thread? I would be interested to know (and I’m sure elektron would be) who would rather have OB and who would rather have MIDI out.
Apparently various people at elektron would ‘like it to have MIDI out’ in a future OS revision, but this may require pressure from users to actually happen.
It would be a fucking useful feature so everyone should make as much noise as possible IMO.
What difference is a poll going to make, if the hardware doesn’t support MIDI out?

but it does MIDI out very well. MIDI in also.
The hardware is totally capable of MIDI, via USB, via the DIN ports, or both, independently.
It’s the software that doesn’t have a MIDI sequencer.

I’ve been mulling this over, and how to go about it with as little friction as possible, I was just about to ease in with a tentative “If the A4/AK had midi out would you use it?” thread and spotted your post.
But a full-blooded “do you want midi out?” poll (with lots of the right kind of response) is what would be required for presenting to Elektron so go for it, you have my support.
Could you tell me what your source is for the above statements, please? I can’t remember seeing those things stated in public anywhere.
Assuming that you by OB you mean Overbridge, wouldn’t the USB chipset take care of the USB audio streaming, while the main processor would have to handle MIDI sequencing?

for anyone that has a minitaur, you can convert CV to midi with it so thats an option to use the A4 as a midi sequencer.
Haven’t tried this myself, because CV is way more fun

“Ah whats up doc? See I want a better 4 voice analog synthesesizer,
dat’s what it says it is on the front panel, right doc?
Mehyeah midi smidi, chomp chomp chomp, I already got 6 hardware 50+ track midi seq capababilities”
(in a Bugs Bunny voice for full effect)
To those mididiots: buy something with a midi sequencer and move on, not hard, nor expensive.
