OS 1.1.1 is out

It’s got like, Swing! And some bug fixes, and a juggling kitten mode (probably)

Mute destination is just what i needed, small but very useful update if one uses both A4 and AR in sync…

Can’t download at the moment … do we have individual track length multipliers yet?

What’s mute destination?
I can’t update as I have a gig next week. Don’t wanna risk screwing up my set.

No we don’t, switching back to patience mode…

before this update if i was muting let’s say first track on A4 first track on AR was muted as well, now i don’t have to deal with it but changing the options in AR…not a big deal for many i guess.

Swing per track…

So I’ve updated…

function + swing = swing menu…

Then I press track 1, change the swing to 80%
Then I press track 2, change the swing to 66%
Then back to track 1 and swing = 66%…

Am I missing something simple?

global swing same as the md perhaps?

You get different swing TRIGS per track, but one swing amount

How do you set them? The Readme is not clear about this.

In the SWING menu, you can now use the [GRID] keys to alter the swing pattern of the current track. This means you can select which steps are being swinged individually per track. You can use copy/clear/paste operations inside the SWING menu to copy/paste or reset the swing pattern to default.

EDIT: Ok, i think i got it. You can´t set an individual amount of swing per step or per track, but you can set which steps you want to swing or not, per track.

Attempting to upgrade A4 OS to 1.1.1
My computer normally recognizes the A4 via USB, however when I start the unit while holding down the [function] key then hit key 4 to place it in OS Upgrade mode, it no longer appears to my computer or to the C6 software. It would seam that the only way I can upgrade to software would be to NOT have it in OS Upgrade Mode. Is there a way that I may start the unit in OS Upgrade mode and still have it be visible to the computer and the C6 software? I haven’t tried to upgrade the OS from the Early Startup Menu because the upgrade instructions specifically recommend against it. I’ve also attempted by changing MIDI Input from MIDI+USB to MIDI Input USB (only), but it doesn’t help. Still disappears to the computer in OS Upgrade mode.

What you’re trying is the Early Startup Menu method. Try this instead:
[ol]
[li]Bootup your A4 as normal[/li]
[li]Select OS UPGRADE in the GLOBAL MENU[/li]
[li]Send the SysEx firmware file to the Analog Four either using the MIDI In Port or the USB MIDI In Port.[/li]
[/ol]

When the update is done the unit will restart itself.
I did the exact same thing as you.

Working! great. I did exactly what the update instructions said not to do. Glad I didn’t brick my A4! Thanks.

ookaaayeee,
something that’s been on the MnM and MD(?) since year dot.
Nice for a few things, but, well, just getting it to MnM standard is not much of an “up grade”
Seeing as you can microtime stuff seems it wouldn’t have been that hard to do swing % per track

You can do Microtiming additionally.

Heya, thanks, that explains it

os 1.11 nice improvement… but … i lost my old projects… :sob:
don’t forget to back up all dates

Can someone copy & paste the release notes from the zip? I’m on vacation and my iPhone won’t download those.

List of changes from OS 1.1D to 1.11 Changes

In the SWING menu, you can now use the [GRID] keys to alter the swing pattern of the current track. This means you can select which steps are being swinged individually per track. You can use copy/clear/paste operations inside the SWING menu to copy/paste or reset the swing pattern to default.

The GLOBAL menu has a new option, SYSTEM, into which the system maintenance activities CALIBRATION, OS UPGRADE and FORMAT +DRIVE have been moved. This makes the GLOBAL menu less cluttered.

The SYNTH MASTER TUNE now has a dedicated menu, which is available directly in the GLOBAL menu rather than being inside a SYNTH CONFIG submenu.

In the MIDI PORT CONFIG menu there is now a new option, MUTE DEST, which determines whether track muting/unmuting sends out MIDI CC/NRPN.

The rename window now remembers previously inserted character, allowing for slightly faster writing.

Grid record mode is now preserved while inside menus where grid record mode is temporarily disallowed, for example in the SCALE SETUP menu.

When erasing parameter locks during live record, empty trigless locks are now removed from the pattern when no locks remain, to make it easier to erase recorded automation.

USB MIDI clock data is no longer sent in the middle of a USB MIDI sysex message, due to bad support in several Computer Operating systems. This should make sysex transfers more robust on certain configurations.

When any SONG Mutes are currently active (i.e. tracks are currently muted by the song), the SONG and CHAIN LEDs are slightly dimmed to clearly indicate this.

Bug Fixes
The chain cursor in main screen could sometimes be out of range when opening a new project or editing the song from the song editor. Fixed.

Some operations like trig removal and undo were difficult to use while running on external sync. Fixed.

Live-record mode incorrectly accepted note and parameter input while sequencer was in pause- or stop-modes. Fixed.

When loading old projects, the project name would sometimes be reset to “New Project”. Fixed.

An empty pattern could sometimes contain advanced scale settings from a previous pattern on the same position. Fixed.

When changing track from within the VELOCITY MOD and AFTERTOUCH, the menus did not reflect the modulation settings of the new track until re-opened. Fixed.

Attempting to paste or clear trigs outside the length of the current track would cause the sequencer to stop (due to the normal pause/stop functionality of the transport keys). Fixed.
