I’m using a Motu Micro Lite with the latest drivers, latest version of C6 and OSX v10.9.2. I used the start up menu accessed by holding the function on boot of the RYTM and selecting option 4.

I’m using all the default settings in C6, all I did was select the midi in and out ports in config, then I hit send and selected the Analog-Rytm_OS1.01.syx file.

It seemed to be going well at first, the RYTM shows the RECEIVING screen, but while the progress bar in C6 progressed until complete and showed DONE, the progress bar on the RYTM is stuck as shown in the image… i’ve left it on for ten mins now with no change.

So I’m wondering whether I should just reboot, not much choice really :sob:

Just spitballing here but dont you need a usb connection to update the OS and for sample transfers as well, didnt think that data could be sent through MIDI.

the update pdf says

[ul]
[li]Send the SysEx firmware file to the Analog Rytm either using the MIDI In Port or the USB MIDI In
Port. [/li]
[/ul]

Don’t use the Function & boot method. Instead try it from the Global menu!

And update you C6 with the last release.

Reboot the machine. As long as it has not started flashing the rom you are completely safe.

Best connect your AR to your computer using the USB cable, then select the AR MIDI IN and OUT ports in C6.

Yes, as i wrote OP it was the latest release.
I didn’t see the Elektron as a midi device via USB for a couple of boots strangely, but it just appeared, I attempted an upgrade via USB in the global menu and it worked this time.
:+1:
Thanks everyone for the support

Just a word of caution! On the A4 there were issues with using the Function /Boot method & it’s possible these have translated to the AR.
I’d strongly advise using the Global menu method, (page 55 in the manual recommends this too)

Cheers

i couldn’t update via the startup menu (i started there because i thought it would be best)… then i used the option from the global menu via USB and it worked great.
