Orchestral and Pianos

Hi guys!
I really need ur help with this one…
I was looking for orchestral and piano sounds in order to combine with my synth sounds for electronic production.
I was looking at Kronos and Nord stage, but I believe the price is huge and I don’t really need their synths or sequencers as I have plenty.
So, even though I don’t enjoy software, I tried to look there for these sounds. But it’s pretty vast and confusing… so could you guide me to some software that does this good?
Thanks a lot!

one of the best for piano sounds is Pianoteq. super expressive (modelled not sampled) and beautiful tones. And the STAGE version is probably all you’ll ever need - it can be had for relatively cheap. (+ it can be installed on a a rasberry pi, so one day you could make a module of it if your heart desired to do so :stuck_out_tongue: ).

My knowledge is limited, but i remember quite liking EastWest for sample libraries.

I was thinking of Session Strings and Gentleman Piano from NI. But even there there are so many… I wouldn t know what to choose… :frowning:
I am not looking just for samples, but an instrument which willl give me some degree of flexibility.

east west is great for everything orchestral, Native instruments has a few good piano ones but I would skip the strings/brass and woodwinds, (the giant, alicias keys and una corda are good), Spitfire Albion is one the most popular all-in-one orchestra, for cello the best one out there is Tina Guo Legato by Cinesample.

These all cost quite a bit because they are marketed to professional film scoring but they are worth it. Free orchestral samples generally dont have the subtlety to sound real and they end up sounding cheesy.

Orchestral sounds are better with samples, but they work like instrument engines. Its not like a one shot so they all usually have a lot of control.

Those PO samples are brilliant. What exceptionally nice of them!
