Is that a recipe for disaster, or will that work out all right? Obviously, I’ll lose stereo output, but electrically, is it feasible? If so, it could be a lovely, easily transportable, novel open mic night setup!
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, there’s nothing weird about sending line level signal to a little amp that way. The amp might give a signal boost if it’s optimised for guitars but you can easily fix that by turning the volume down on the OT.
That said, that amp looks too small and weak to push sound to a whole bar. Most open mic nights I’ve been to have a PA you can plug into, so consider that too.
thank you for your considerate reply, Anfim. I’ll scope the layout before I commit to this approach. but I’m glad to hear that I’m not in danger of wrecking anything!
Yeah rest easy, scope the layout and for sure report back with how it goes, there’s a real dearth of anyone using anything but guitars at open mics round here so you would be welcomed with open arms using an octatrack best of luck!
