OP-XY/Z User Thread

What is the best/safest way to update the firmware on the OP-XY? Via the Web updater or via TE Boot?

Fingers crossed there’s still some bigger update to be announced at Superbooth

After the “long” period since the last update (and also because of the upcoming Superbooth), I expected a little bit more. But anyway, the OP-XY is still at a stage where bugfixes are not the worst thing

Yesterday I took a closer look at song mode for the first time.

Is there a way to temporarily switch off song mode in order to rework a single pattern? Because every time I press play, the entire song is played, which is inconvenient in this situation.

you can switch starting point by using the plus and minus buttons

I know, but I’m looking for a way that only the scene whose pattern I want to edit is played and I don’t have to constantly interact. Some kind of lock function.

you could start a new song by pressing shift+white keys and have that song only point to a specific scene

Thanks, great idea. I have to get used to the fact that a project can have several songs.

If you go back to the standard arranger page and select that scene it should just loop that scene when you press play again.

Unfortunately not. Also in the clip view the entire song will be played. I would prefer to have separately pattern and song modes as I know it from Elektron.

It doesn’t for me, if you go to clip view, press stop, choose a scene, press play, it should just loop that scene

You can, but you have to reselect the exact scene by shift+number of the scene. Then it works.

Great, that‘s exactly what I want.

Life with the XY could be so much easier if we had a better manual.

I found a video regarding the “focus mode” (which means to lock a single drum lane in a drum track for step editing).

I can do what I want, it doesn’t work for me. Any ideas what’s wrong? Because the video is old, I fear this mode is no longer supported by newer software releases.

i cannot get it to lock like the person in the video does.

But, if you release the record button, press and hold shift and press a step then release the sample button. the lane will lock in focus mode.

Thanks, but I still can’t get it to work.

That’s what I do:

I hold a drum key and hit record shortly, then I hold shift, hit any step, then I release the drum key. But nothing happens :frowning:
