Has anyone found a simple way to set up the a/b morphing feature in the drum sampler? I feel like it’s an overlooked feature. But useful not only for morphing effects but also simply layering 2 drum sounds or having a choice on which sound to use for each particular key in 1 kit.
Easiest way i found is using https://digichain.brianbar.net/ (shout out to @brian3kb ) to merge 2 samples. Then dropping the merged sample into the TE drum tool so that the slice markers are set properly. Wish it was built into the TE tool to make it 1 less step
The OP Export UI is almost done, and will be in the next update which simplifies combining L / R into a single sample / slice - I just have some XY specific stuff to workout, and to add back in the UI elements to set the LR-panning/AB-mix on the key details. (I’ve been away recently for work and only got back earlier this week, so the release has been delayed by almost a month!).
In DigiChain as it stands (the currently live version on the site), if you are in the AIF 44.1 stereo config
@enzo for quick & easy drum sample layering you could make internally using op-1F tape. Record one layer on track 1 panned hard left then the other layer panned hard right also to track 1 then lift/drop into the drum sampler. Use a sequencer (endless, finger etc.) to line up the timing of the samples recorded to tape.
That’s great to hear!! I got one again in a trade and have been loving it. It’s been a while since I’ve had one, but it all just clicks. Though I’d forgotten about the master EQ and compressor settings being shared over all the tapes
Yeah, the way I’m approaching it is that I still just write one song in the Field, and use the different tapes for effects, saving certain parts in their own place, that kind of stuff. So I got a master tape (the studio one) where I assemble the song, and then I got bits and pieces spread out over the porta and vintage tapes for various experimentation and effects, and bring the results I like into the master tape. It’s just not suited to write multiple songs over several tapes the way it’s designed now, so I just stopped fighting it and embraced this instead
Bro… lmao. I haven’t turned mine on in weeks. Actually I only use it when I’m making YouTube video for my audio. I would use it all the time if it had a real looper in it… that was the reason I bought it cause I started hearing how the next update was going to have a looper. I just assumed it was going to be a sound on sound looper. Let’s hope for a good update sooner than later.
Yeah, even if they do update it, I don’t know. It’ll likely leave me sooner rather than later. As long as I keep spitting out tracks I enjoy with the OP-1, the tape of TP-7 doesn’t add anything I need.
Which is a shame, cause I kinda love it all the same
