My experience with TE and their defective products includes:
OP-Z: I purchased it from a music instrument retailer in Spain. It had an issue with the battery failing to charge. Two days after the purchase, I returned it and they promptly replaced it with a functioning unit.
TX-6: This was bought directly from the TE website. The main output had a hardware malfunction. I reached out to their support team and opened a ticket. After sending my unit back, I received a working replacement at my home within two weeks.
From these experiences, my impression is that TEās customer support is quite reliable and efficient.
Hi everyone! I have the idea that op-1 field is perfect/great for lofi/ambient music.
But as far as I can tell, there is no dedicated saturation effect (with wear, wow, flutter controls etc) on the op-1 field? Or is there another way to achieve this sound?
What is the best way to get some nice sounding saturation on one of the (synth) tracks in the op-1 field?
You can sort of create this type of sound with a wet delay and using a bit of lfo on delay time. Unfortunately the delay (of all things field) is still monoā¦
Vintage tape and cassette do these things to some extent. Run a synth through the Terminal effect and set master effect to Mother or Spring. Tweak the flutter tape live when you playback, with maybe a step or two down on the pitch.
Nitro effect combined with lfo on tremolo does a lot, too.
If I was a video guy, Iād cook one up for you. But Iām not
Itās not so tricky, tho. If you take the time, just sit down and mess around with it and youāll figure it out. Bottom line, you can go very lo-fi with the Field, tho in a nice, top notch quality way, keeping those cracks and distortions in check.
Hereās a little experiment with the OP-1 Field and the nanobox Tangerine. They play extremely well together. My two favourite workflows now fused into one silly powerful compact unit -
Two loops running on the nanobox tangerine at one octave lowered pitch from original source, with some field recordings. OP-1 loop runs in free form from Tangerine, tweaked live for effect. TX-6 mixer is used as ⦠well, a mixer, but also for live fx to get that broken feeling on the piano.
I wouldnāt even know where to start just firing up the phone and showing it real time would be easy enough, but it wouldnāt compare to quality acts like Tinez or Loopop.
Fwiw, I could only speak for myself, but a simple phone video that isnāt clean or polished at all is more than enough!
Those loopop tinez videos are awesome and I equally appreciate any videos, no matter the fidelity or production values, that show an interesting tidbit or workflow.
I used to have a big guitar tutorial channel 15 years ago and my video quality was horrid iMac camera. I had tons of views and subscribers and people to this day message me thanking me for teaching them some songs.
Iām gonna go out on a limb and say Iām talking for everyone here when I say that a @circuitghost YT channel around your workflow might just be the Xmas miracle weāre all waiting for.
And miracle wishes aside, your instagram posts are dreamy enough. Thanks for sharing, @circuitghost
