OP-1 field

Loopy pro destroys logics version of loops. Loopy pro is in my opinion the best iPad music app there is. Logic Pro on iPad isn’t better than Logic for mac. It also doesn’t do anything uniquely different on an iPad and touch on it isn’t exactly easier than mouse and keyboard. Loopy pro on the other hand would be worse on a mac. It shines with touch and gestures and I wouldn’t want to use it with a mouse keyboard. I think that’s my threshold of a good iPad app. Does it do anything unique with touch and gestures that sets it apart from a traditional desktop app? Most of the time it’s no. But in the case of loopy pro and koala sampler, they both very much shine on a touch surface.

This forum is incredible.
Reading through all the infos, all the ideas, all the shared tracks…
TE should be proud they have such a dedicated community to get inspired from!

Took me a week to get through everything, but totally worth it!

Well done! I’ve dipped in and out of the thread since the beginning. Since I convinced myself I didn’t need to upgrade to the field, before I did  You’ve done well to read it all.

I think I’m GASsing a bit at the moment. Trying to convince myself not to purchase an OG1, a MOOD mkII and/or a PO-33.
But yeah. This forum is a great place. The OP1 community makes me think of the Line 6 Helix community. A lot of good vibes and useful tips. Love it.

All the love for the conversations had in this thread has me reminiscing of the time spent needlessly speculating on the next OP-1 (f) update.
Anyone have a hunch as to when we’ll get one? and tbh for me at this moment I have literally no clue or idea what the next update could have in store for us.

Hopefully it’s a more powerful sequencer or general turn in the method

I think this has been the longest stretch without an op-1f update so far, which could indicate that the next one will contain something more substantial. I’m hoping for a new effect (some kind of distortion or degradation) or a new sequencer (something generative like MU marbles).

Or… Chopper 2 :joy:

I think I’ve read somewhere (couldn’t remember if it was on the OG Forum or on some YT comments) that TE was too focused on the TP-6 and CM-15 this summer.

But yeah. An update would be great af.
Not even a fanciest one.
Fade tools, a new Sequencer, maybe a new FX or just a second master compressor…

Guess we’ll have to be patient! But just can’t wait.

I feel as though the big thing missing from the platform is more drum synths, and I wonder if that’s in the cards, or if they’re working on a drum machine

Anytime. I live in the Lot, about 2 hours north of Toulouse.
But always keen on ganging it up!

Lately, when driving solo, my mind wanders and wonders what TE (and, who knows, maybe a new brand) could come up with. What’s their take on this or that.

They could go with a DAW of sorts.
They could go the not-portable-at-all way.
They could even go and do something as out of the box as a MIDI guitar, an AI loop-generative always-connected synth.
Or they could go the full Apple way and try to design the first ever AR/VR headset synth or DAW.

One thing for sure, they know how to surprise their customers.
And they do know how to disappoint with satisfaction. The op1.5 is great example.

Anyways.
TE is mos def my new fave show - gets weirder every episode (their merch, their synths, etc) but gets more focused every season (the field series is pretty cool)!

Just my two cents…

Agree, it makes them really fun to ponder! The field series was such an unusual move. I do love the OP1F as it is and would be satisfied without any upgrades but I’m sure they have things planned…

Had some fun with the vocoder today. It’s hard to control but makes for some great texture I think. Adds that human feel to it.

Hi folks, I’ve made another sound pack for the OP-1 Field called ‘Field Path’ featuring 50 stereo single-sampled evolving pad sounds with lots of movement and surprises. Below is a patch play through video for the ones interested. Cheers!

Nuts. Download/purchase link is in the YouTube commentary.

This is swell. Thanks.

I’ve been doing goofy noise/ambient stuff with @tapesky for the last nine months or so now; usually I bring just my OP-1F. I keep saying I’m going to do “sound design” for us, but I always end up just dialing up a couple of sounds from one of your sample packs.

Folks, if you haven’t gotten @rephazer’s work for your OP-1F, run, don’t walk to the download links. They’re that good.
