One OT audio track to send clock and reset to Modular?

Hi guys,

Trying to remove my midi to cv module from my live modular case, as currently it just serves as a clock source derived from Octatracks midi clock.

Previously I’ve used a modular pulse sample on an Octatrack track to clock my Turing machine. But next week I’ll be receiving another sequencer that has a ‘reset’ input.

So would I be able to generate a clock and reset from a single Octatrack audio track?

Thinking by p-locking the pulse sample’s ‘pan’ parameter to be hard left for the clock, which I would use the left channel of the Cue output. And then on the 1st trig of the pattern I could p-lock ‘pan’ so that the pulse comes out of both of the Cue output channels, this would then give me a reset pulse out of the right cue channel, and a clock out of the left cue channel.

In theory it works as far as i understand, but wanted to check if anyone has done so in practise before I can try it myself late next week

I’ve done something very similar with my OT and Rene, should work…

What did you do out of interest?

I was without a CV to Midi module for a couple weeks, so sent 2 pulses tracks from the octatrack, 1 to my tempi for clock and 1 to Rene for reset.

Thanks for your reply - so did you use two tracks to do this?

Yeah, pan should work. I suppose keeping the volume up might be an issue. Maybe a compressor to keep levels up.

Great thanks @RoyShade good idea on the compressor - I had amp and track volume at max and it seemed to drive my Turing Machine but will boost it some more with your suggestion.
