Machinedrum right output is intermittently losing it’s sound. Would this be an easy repair? Has anyone done it before? Or does anyone know how much it would cost to send it to Elektron for repair?
Possibly. Do you have diagnosis or repair skills or know someone who has?
Electron usually charges by the half-hour for repairs. If you want to know the cost you should create a support ticket on their website.
I hope you can get your MD fixed!
Thanks, I got in touch and Australians have to go through their distributors, i think they even do repairs here as well
anyone have a fix for this?
So I got the SPS UW MKII earlier in the year. Up until this month it worked flawlessly until one day I booted it up and got the dreaded space invaders error.
Obviously I immediately started searching online and decided to do the cable reseating thing and upgrade to X.10. The first tear down was a success, until I found the left output wasn’t working. Then I opened it again and reseated everything again and bam the outputs were working.
Now, a few days after and I have the same output issue. I decided not to open it again and miraculously after 2 days the output came back. It kept working for some days and now it’s gone. So there is this weird pattern going where it works for some days and comes back.
So yesterday I decided to open it and reseat everything again. Turned it on and voila, no output. After 1 minute it worked for like 5 minutes than it dropped again.
Now, I cleaned the volume pot contacts with Isopropyl and started wondering where to go from here. Maybe reflow those solder pins? Where I live at the moment a professional its not really an option. One thing to mention is when reseating the cables I never got to fully remove the left one, because it feels so hard to come out I felt I would brake it. Anywhere specific I should read on a multimeter? Does anyone has the schematics?
Having the same issue.
