One analog four like mono?

hello guys

I’m switching my analog four to an octatrack because it will give me more track and some better live sound manipulation.

but I really like it’s sound, and especially the vast sound territory it can cover.

I’m looking for a synth ( analog or not, it may vary but I think that if i like the A4 it must be analog to satisfy my ears), mono (because for the price I can pay it only can be mono), with

  • an a4 like interface (wich is really great on my opinion)
  • a huge ‘‘versatility’’ , with wide sonic possibilities and a large modulation matrix.

It must be under 500 euros, preferably 400 would be awesome

I’m thinking about the pulse 2 (patch saving, near a4 like interface, sound possibilities)

are you seeing something else?

minibrute feels limited (even with the ‘‘spicy’’ option on every wave,

bass station doesn’t please me.( cheap plastic, not a good feel about the instrument), but maybe do I need to reconsider it again.

there is also the eowave magma, seem to have a rich analog sound, and some enveloppes and lfo, furthermore, it receive midi cc so I can extand it’s possibility with my octatrack’s lfo.

any comment or other ideas?

DSI Evolver?

thanks I forgot that one.

can you tell me the one between dsi and the waldorf wich is close to a4 sound

Mutable Instruments Shruthi? Ambika would be even better, but sligthly over the budget.

yes i was thinking about the shruti too.

but these are no easy to find and to test before you buy it.

i think maybe the pulse 2 might be your best bet… it has a real heft to it, has a really great arp, it can change sounds per step like the a4, has cv out too.

i guess there is the bass station 2… also im not sure where you are based but a moog slim phatty second hand is around the 500 region.

i had a dsi mono evolver and mono evolver keyboard and lets just say the mono evolver does not have a patch on the keyboard version…for ease of use and playablilty…i guess technically the same- the keyboard is so much better, but a lot more expensive.

if you were into vintage, a sequential circuits six trak can be had for around the 500 mark - this is a super synth and i really regret selling mine sounds great. no cv tho. the arp is clockable by sync.

there is an obheriem matrix 6r for sale here in Ireland for 500 eur which is a beast of a synth, i think everything can modulate everything else!! so much going on with it and it has a really unique sound.

isnt there a rack version of the yamaha dx7 too?? i would imagine that would be pretty cheap with lots of modulation posibbilities and when programmed right, some serious bass.

also the wladorf blofeld looks pretty cool!

anyway, that is just some stuff i think are pretty cool!

thank’s a lot for the answers.

what do you mean by changing sound per step according to the pulse 2?

I’m pretty sure about picking up this one.
