On A4 does the screen have a protective film on it?

Hi I’m recently got a brand new A4 and digging it so far…anyways the screen looks a bit dull like it has protective film on it (like a thin plastic) like you’d see on most new devices with a led type screen to protect it from scratching. So does it? I tried to get my nail under the edge to see if something would come loose but not sure if it’s supposed to?

It does. Its on there good, and I would leave it.

Thanks. Is it meant to be removed? Why do you recommend not to remove, is it easy to scratch or something? Could always add aftermarket screen protector like I did for my op1, sometimes it’s nice to remove though when dealing with lighting glare.

Also is there a proper way to remove it, can’t tell where it starts?

I removed mine cause there was a little piece of dust stuck under it, and it drove me insane (almost looked like a dead pixel), just to discover it’s actually stuck underneath the glass itself…

the retailer who shipped it to me told me after complaining there MUST be a cover foil on it.

i couldnt get it off, and thought i am ripping the top plastic layer off of it.

to this very day i am not messing with it anymore… the screen film on my MD was so soooo soooooo thin, I was complaining to the after sales team from my retailer about used products with scratched screens.

turned out THEY were right… there was a screen cover on it … on the A4, i still believe there is non, but i was sooo wrong on the MD

if you got it first hand. i assume there is one on it

most devices with an LCD like that have a protective film from mfg.

the A4 and OT both have it and you can remove it…you will be surprised how much nicer the screen looks when you take that off

^ this. plus the colour hue gets shifted… that film will protect against nothing imho, but might make a resale easier

I usually leave such things alone as you never know if you’ll need to sell something and having the plastic on can improve your resale outcome. But I love the A4 so much I took it off right quick, plus that lil screen needs all the help it can get
