Wow, it seems that the thread has been silent for a whole year. Time passes quickly.
In the background displays get ordered & delivered.
So much so, that I ran out of stock a few weeks ago, so I am finally ordering a new batch this week.
Though, (as usual) no clue, what the interest this time around is, donāt want to undershoot or hugely overshoot the batch size.

Thinking about one of these for my rytmMK1. I am wondering though.
Is there a chance of making a version that has a larger screen? The size of the actual cutout in the metal of the case. Obviously the pixel count from the rytm canāt be changed, but just having larger pixels would make it easier to read the screen from a distance.

But now that I think about it, it does not sound like a practical possibility anyway.
The cutout in aluminum is not significantly larger than the OLED panelās dimensions; in addition you need space for bracket to hold it.
As a sidenote, the current situation with space for bracket material is pushed close to absolute minimal limit.
An OLED panel could be put below that, so that only the active pixel area is around the same size as aluminum cutout, but that screams to me as possibly being so deep (taking in account some 1mm for bracket space above OLED), than viewing it from any non-straight angle would obstruct some (e.g., lower) pixel rows. Even now, I have put the OLED position more towards the top to be easier to see⦠well actually pure luck that this has worked out - there was no choice to make it centered.
Havenāt even considered here my efforts in this direction being sensible financially:
to do all of this custom stuff, and (my hunch saying) probably getting nobody to go that route to buy such a thing and go with additional step to change the front protective glass as well (common sense would be to make a custom glass for the customer; not a fan of the idea of additional work in an unknown territory for me).
Agh, but yeah, I guess I am being overly negative towards this.
Just that my experience shows - usually unknown work turns out to be 2x-10x harder than estimated.

If someone finds PMOLED on panelook.com that seems seems to be the right dimensions + it has 128x32 or 256x64 resolution (possible to lump 2x2 pixels as one)⦠actually could be also a bit different resolution. 122x32 is the original resolution, so e.g., 132x32 would also work, just in firmware would ignore the outer 5px on each side to show only data on 122 middle columns.
I should probably first go and troubleshoot the issues with MnM/MD/OTmk1 OLED design, which hasnāt moved much for a year on my end.
iām likely to buy one (or maybe two?) at some point in the next year.

It is frustrating I love the Rytm but the screen does show essential info and I find I often have to put on reading glasses just to see it -breaks the hardware flow and at that point might as well use overbridge. The MK2 isnāt much better.
I donāt need or want more info on the screen or more pixels just larger so it can be read from a distance.
There are flat magnifying lenses you could put over the screen. Canāt point you to any but could be worth some investigation

Iāve tried looking. But all I can find is those round āpaperweightā lenses⦠or typical magnifying glasses which need to be a distance from the subject and that couldnāt be fixed directly over the screen.
They are out there but I just canāt get the right search term.

I managed to use the A4 sysex polling trick to show the synth parameters live with webmidi. I have not tested with android phone yet (IOS does not support webmidi afaik). And i know overbridge exists on ipad ![]()
