Older Mac mini for video/pic editing

There’s offers regularly i pay 35 by month and at the end of the next year you cancel you offer and then they offer you the same price to keep you another year…

Final Cut is 330 that’s 9 month of creative cloud. But with Creative Cloud i have nearly all i need vector, picture, sound, 3D, compositing, video editing, webdesign & dev, product mockup etc…

not a fan of Final cut and Logic

Also renting is the future soon we’ll rent computer and we don’t buy it any more. That’s how i see things evolve you can’t buy a 3000 (at least) computer every 2 years. (at least i can’t)
Rent a computer will be soon - price are already dropping

I’m not computer savvy, so sorry if this sounds ignorant, but I wonder if the older mac would be able to run the updated Apple OS smoothly. I imagine if you got Final Cut it would be optimized to the latest OS. I have an older Macbook (2011 i think) and after updating the OS over the years it really doesn’t run like it used to. Anyone have a similar experience? I like your idea but that would be my concern. Apple is notorious for nerfing their older products with updates from my understanding.

Iirc it’s a bit of a faff - think you need to go through unidays. Give a shout if you need any info :+1:

If you can find a 6,2 i7, that’s still pretty beefy, well, by Laptop standards. It’s still not bad, you can upgrade those models too, I’ve seen them for £300.

The 2012 mini is a favorite for upgrading. RAM and drive easy to change. Look for an i7 (not sure that was offered) because the i7 supports hyper threading which helps CPU processing like rendering.
