I’m stucked, not able to get the sequencer to start!
Do you see what I’m doing wrong or have any idea where I should look?
The Octatrack was working fine until I started to set it up to get MIDI start/clock from Logic

Try test mode.
TEST MODE says all is OK
Did you set it back to internal clock and transport?
No matter how I set the TRANSP and CLOCK in the MIDI setup, the sequencer won’t start.
Is there any other parameter that sets to internal clock, like on any other drum machine? Even on the Machinedrum it is easy. Tempo source int, ext… no prob.
Here I spent nearly 2 hours and the Octatrack seq does not start

Octratack 1 not playing
Normal, it doesn’t exist.
So you send transport and clock from Logic, and want to sync OT as slaved?
Transport / Clock receive didn’t work?
I wanted to do that, it didn’t work. So I left it aside.
Now I don’t use MIDI. I just want the seq to start. No MIDI involved.
The Octatrack does not play. MIDI or not, I’m stucked.
No midi cable plugged in midi in?
According to the two videos that you posted, your OT is in Arrangement mode with nothing in the loaded arrangement. This is indicated by the LED above the “Pattern” button being illuminated. Therefore nothing will happen when you press Play.
You need to be in pattern mode, or load something into an arrangement.
THANK YOU!!!
I could not find a way to have the function LED off.
[FUNCTION] + [PATTERN] was the key.
Obv. I clicked this combo earlier when searching for a solution to clock the Octatrack externally via MIDI.
I will remember this one!
Thanx again to all for helping here. Much appreciated.
That’s because it’s not a [FUNCTION] LED, it’s an < ARRANGER > LED (manual, page 86).
