Hi all. Somebody there can help me with these questions : Let me try to explain my best , i don´t speak english very well. I want to use beatsep like a “external keyboard with 16 keys” but i don´t know how configure it.
I have beatstep midi out connected in octatrack midi in
I push the pad number 9 in beatstep and i hear the sample in track 1 ,
i push the pad number 10 in beatstep and i hear the sample in track 2… and so on.,.-,-
But i don´t want that , i want beatstep use the pads like a keyboard piano and play the track assigned in octatrack (for example track 2 /channel 2) in “chromatic mode” like a piano. Is that possible ?
you need to match the midi channel out of the beatstep and the octatrack track channel,if you go into midi setup page you can assign the midi channel to the audio track of choice. you can use the auto channel as well,will affect the highlighted track.chromatic notes only respond midi note 72 upwards,all notes below this affect different stuff.check the manual it’s all there.
you can change the Beatstep with the editor so you have a preset that starts at midi note 72 as well. Beatstep is quite flexible( you don’t have to do this you can just turn the transpose knob)
shit . thanks you but im still trying what you said vneutron , but didnt work. Need i change something in the beastep software ??? or only need to make chjanges in octatrack ?
