I have been working on trying to set up some chops from a record that I sampled. The prcoess ide like to do is:
1 record in sample
2 trim whole sample to perfect 2 bar loop
3 slice grid.
ideally if i get the trim right the slice grid should match perfectly.
I am having alot of trouble cropping the endpoint of the sample. Is there a way to preview the sample from the cursor position?
My current soloution to try to set the endpoint is:
1 move the start to the end to hear the section i want to crop.
2 move the end point to match the start point
3 move the start point out to the begining
4 realize ive moved the start and end point.
5 start over.
Use a scene with rate at -64 on left side of crossfader so you can use it as a rewind to go quickly to end of sample
I usually make it pitch +12 as well so that it rewinds faster (timestretch off)

Although I still usually use the first method - less setup , less to think about
ok your techniques both seem like total witchcraft. I have discovered that i can just preview the start of the piece I want to cut off and then use the delete selection to trim off the end of the sample.
